PENGUATAN MATERI MATEMATIKA BERBASIS SENSORY BASED LEARNING PADA GURU SEKOLAH DASAR UNTUK MENDUKUNG SDG 4
Abstract
Mathematics learning at the elementary school level needs to accommodate the diversity of ways in which students receive and process information. This community service program aimed to improve teachers’ understanding and skills in designing mathematics instruction based on sensory-based learning. The program was conducted through several activities, including socialization sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in developing learning designs that incorporated visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile modalities. The participants were 26 elementary school teachers in Jombang Regency. The program was evaluated through pre-tests and post-tests, observations of participant engagement, assessment of group work, and analysis of follow-up action plans. The results showed that the participants’ average understanding increased from 62 to 84, while their average skills in designing mathematics instruction increased from 58 to 80. In addition, 23 out of 26 participants successfully developed follow-up action plans to implement multisensory learning in their classrooms.
